NOSES, hair, faces and even arms and legs went a bright shade of red when Dame Bradbury School pupils celebrated Comic Relief on Friday.

Dame Bradbury's marketing co-ordinator Miranda McIntyre said: "Everyone had a lovely day and we raised a staggering £1298 for Comic Relief.

"All the children paid £1 to come to school dressed in red clothes, while Year Five's cake and chocolate stalls at break time were a complete sell-out, with barely a crumb left."

The pupils also had fun making plenty of mess as they created wacky hairstyles and playing crazy games.

"Year Four had a roaring success with their hairspray stall and a lot of parents may not have recognised their children at the end of day, as their heads were transformed by red, blue and green stripes, spots, zigzags and even initials," said Ms McIntyre.

"The Year Six pupils held a wild and wacky selection of stalls at lunchtime break, including wet red nose throwing, red nose cricket and stick the red nose on the clown's face.
