THE Saffron Walden Reporter office opened its doors on Friday morning to welcome anyone who wanted to come and take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

The Macmillan Cancer Support event saw more than 1800 coffee mornings taking place across Essex, working towards a county fund-raising target of £300,000.

The Reporter's Nic Love said: "The morning was a great success - we had plenty of people dropping by for a cup of coffee, slice of cake and a chat, and it was great to meet some more of our readers.

"We're glad we've done our bit for Macmillan by holding this event, and hope that we'll have helped raise even more money nationwide than the £7.5 million that was raised last year."

The Reporter event contributed £70, which will go towards supporting people living with cancer and their families.
