Rotary Club on the lookout for the next Jamie Oliver!

BUDDING young cooks in Saffron Walden are being invited to enter a talent competition organised by the town’s Rotary Club.
Young Chef of the Year is coming to Saffron Walden County High School as the Rotary Club search for the finest cook under the age of 17 in the area.
On December 3 participants will be required to prepare a two course healthy meal for two people, being a main course and dessert, costing no more than £15. Participants will provide their own ingredients and specialist cooking/serving dishes plus utensils - an oven and worktop area is provided. Two hours will be allowed including setting up time of 20 minutes.
The winner progresses to the area competition in Bury St Edmunds February 12 2011 from which a winner goes to the national finals to be held in April.
The winner of receives dinner for two at The Restaurant Church Street, Saffron Walden.
The judges are area co-ordinator for design and technology Hilary Bradbury, chef patron of The Restuarant on Church Street Hassan Shamkh, and the school’s food technology teacher Ray Morrison, a retired restaurateur and Rotarian.
