THE sixth round of the Essex County Council’s Community Initiatives Fund is open for applications.
The Community Initiatives Fund has been set up to offer small grants for capital projects that will benefit the local community; this year, requests for funding will be subject to a maximum application of 15,000.
As with previous years, all applications will need to provide evidence of community need for their particular project and explain how the project will enhance the local area.
The deadline for applications is Friday October 29, with all judging panels meeting during February 2011 to decide the allocation of the funding available.
County Councillor John Jowers, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Communities and Plannin, said: “We are extremely pleased that we are able to continue to support this scheme and look forward to another year of exciting applications.
“We are committed to giving communities the opportunity to identify projects that are important to them and that will make a real difference to their local community”.
