TWO members of Debden branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded prestigious Essex County Legion Certificates of Appreciation for their “enthusiasm and hard work”.
Recently-elected branch president Mike Barton and secretary Chris Griffin were presented the certificates by Essex County RBL president, Brigadier (Retd) Malcolm Ratcliffe.
Mr Barton joined the Debden branch in 1990 and has held the posts of vice chairman and chairman.
Mrs Griffin joined the branch in 1995 and has served as secretary and treasurer.
Branch chairman, Colonel (Retd) Roger Burgess, praised the recipients and endorsed the awards, adding: “They were thoroughly well deserved and were a fitting tribute to their enthusiasm, hard work and support over a sustained period.”
