More than 200 runners took on the Wicked Walden 10k on Sunday (September 27).

Andrew Mynott, hoping for a third consecutive victory in the event, organised by Saffron Striders, finished 24 seconds behind winner Tom Eames, from West Suffolk Athletics Club, who clocked a time of 34m.47s.

Third place went to last year’s runner up – Samuel Pedersen, who finished in 36m.53s.

The second Strider to finish was Darren Barnes, ahead of teammate Mark Samson.

There was success for Mynott’s Striders teammate Caroline Thompson, who was the first female to finish. She came home in 42m.24s.

WaldenTri’s Jess Hudson was the second female to cross the finishing line, with a time of 43m.20s. Third place went to another Strider, Stefanie Godfrey.

Hudson also picked up a second medal in the team competition, as part of the first- placed Dyce Fitness team along with Michael Buchallet, Craig Dyce, Charlie Passfield, Michael Passfield and Helen Ludden.

The runners started at Joyce Frankland Academy and made their way towards Wicken Bohnunt and then back towards Wendens Ambo before the finish back at the academy.
