STANSTED Airport's runway was closed for an hour this morning (Friday) after heavy snowfall.
A number of flights were cancelled and others were delayed while the runway was cleared and de-iced.
An airport spokesman said: "The runway was closed for about an hour between 8.25am and 9.35am and I believe a number of Ryanair flights were cancelled because of this. The runway is now open."
Stansted Airport has about 30 snow clearing vehicles which are used to clear the runway, taxiways and aprons.
