A BEAUTIFUL garden setting, glorious English summer weather and picnic hampers – all the ingredients were there for an enjoyable afternoon when the Saffron Walden Arts Trust (SWAT) organised its first Jazz Picnic Concert Bridge End Garden.

Music was provided by the Saffron Walden County High Jazz Band under the leadership of Alan Broadbent, Pure Sax, led by County High‘s Jason Meyrick, and the popular Saffron Dance Band.

The bands played a medley of well-known jazz and swing tunes.

Chairman of SWAT Pete Upson said: “We all had a great time with some fantastic music, in a beautiful setting. And at the end of proceedings, there was not a single piece of litter was left to pick up!

“Thank you to the musicians for giving us an enjoyable afternoon and to everyone that supported the concert.”
