A Saffron Walden beauty therapist apprentice has scooped an award for her outstanding performance at both college and work.

Rebecca Rees, 18, of Rowntree Way, won the Hair and Beauty Apprentice of the Year award at Cambridge Regional College (CRC) for her hard work and dedication.

Rebecca, who is an advanced beauty therapy apprentice at Aesthetica Beauty Salon in Fairycroft Road, Saffron Walden, said: “It was a surprise to win the award but I was very happy.

“I enjoyed my apprenticeship. It is hard work but if you enjoy learning and having the experience it is a really good idea.”

Paul Skitt, head of employer engagement at CRC said: “She shows excellent dedication to her apprenticeship and produces work of an exceptionally high standard, both at college and in the workplace.”

CRC’s annual awards celebrate the achievements of apprentices who train at the college and work in businesses across the region.
