The group are pictured outside the Coach & Horses Pub in the village which is conveniently located next to St Margaret’s Church where the bells were also being rung.
Passing motorists tooted their horns to join in the celebration.
Across the British Isles thousands of bells rung out across the UK to mark the official start of the Games. Big Ben rang 40 times in three minutes - the longest time in 60 years - while church bells, doorbells and even bicycle bells all joined in the performance.
