A charity fashion show at dress shop, M&Co in Saffron Walden on Wednesday, April 19 raised over £400 to buy another defibrillator for the town.
The models and the audience were supporting a campaign by Gibson WI who, after hearing an inspirational talk from First Responder Paul Doe decided to provide the life-saving device for the Shire Hill area.
An enthusiastic audience saw customers, staff and grandchildren of WI members show off evening wear, jeans, day dresses, blouses and children’s wear.
WI spokesman Sue Harris said: “During the interval, we were treated to some delicious nibbles and a glass of something. After the show we made the most of trying on all the lovely clothes. There was of course a raffle. We now have £1,200 towards the defibrillator with just £300 more to go. Many thanks to all involved.”
The shop’s manager, Sam Driscoll, said: “We hold regular fashion shows for charity when our customers ask us. It was a very nice evening.”
