Saffron Walden’s fire engines will operate from another location for the next four weeks as resurfacing work began at the town’s fire station today (March 7).
The drill yard at the Hill Street base is being retarmacked, and the station’s engines will operate from Barrell Resolve on Shire Hill Industrial Estate in the meantime.
A spokesman for the Essex Fire and Rescue Service said the maintenance work is expected to last for around four weeks, and was needed to make the station fit for purpose.
