Part of Saffron Walden Community Hospital was evacuated on Thursday morning (July 14).
Firefighters from Saffron Walden were sent to the Radwinter Road building after the fire alarm went off,
They found a steam leak in the Ferguson Close Mental Health Unit and handed the incident over to hospital maintenance staff.
