Members of the Inner Wheel Club of Saffron Walden visited The Accuro Club on Saturday to present a new scooter. It was the ?rst donation of several aimed at supporting this worthy charity.

Inner Wheel is celebrating its 90th birthday in 2014 and as part of that every club in the UK has been asked to take part in the ‘Wheels’ project by fundraising to provide wheeled items for local charities.

Accuro offers support throughout west Essex to people of all ages with a disability and provides short breaks for their families and carers.

The Saturday Play Club, which meets at Dame Bradbury’s School, aims to provide opportunities for children and young people with a range of disabilities and needs, to engage in constructive and imaginative play within a safe, caring environment.

Future donations to Accuro from the Inner Wheel Club will be aimed both at the Saturday Club and its Community Gardening Project, by donating another wheeled item – namely a wheelbarrow ?lled with garden equipment.

The Gardening Project meets every week on a Tuesday and Wednesday, from 9.30am to 4pm, at Stonebridge Farm in Little Walden. The main aim is to provide a free gardening service for elderly people or others who through age, illness or disability are unable to take care of their own gardens.
