A social justice theatre company from Saffron Walden has been shortlisted for an award this week.
Hyperfusion are up for a European Diversity Award in the Community Project of the Year category for their work raising awareness of issues such as bullying, homophobia, domestic violence, and sexual consent.
The interactive company go into schools and perform a piece that is designed to make people think about the issues in our society today, before handing over the reigns to the audience.
After being split into groups, the audience are each assigned one character, controlling how they believe it is best to react to a given situation as it happens on stage.
This is designed to make people think hard about the consequences of their actions.
These awards, which have been running since 2010, can boast winners such as model and trans-activist April Ashley, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, Lord Cashman of Limehouse, and organisations including Barclays, the British Army, and Nestlé.
Winners will be announced at a dinner on November 29 at the Natural History Museum in London.
