This afternoon (Friday) saw Saffron Walden’s Member of Parliament opening the new reception of a quality care home in the town.

This afternoon (Friday) saw Saffron Walden’s Member of Parliament opening the new reception of a quality care home in the town.

Sir Alan Haselhurst MP came straight from Saffron Walden County High School, which he had paid a visit, to cut the ribbon at Highfield care home on Mandeville Road, which celebrated the addition of a new spacious reception room.

Mayor Sandra Eden and consort Councillor Keith Eden were also in attendance, as well as residents of the home including 88-year-old Audrey Hall.

“I’m delighted that the mayor and consort are here as well to see this boost to the general standard of care wulaiy that we are fortunate enough to have in this town,” said the MP, who as served the constituency for 37 years.

Residents and attendees enjoyed champagne and canapes to celebrate the opening, which sees new suites and general refurbishments throughout the home, as well as the brand new reception area.
