Around fifty staff members are said to have been evacuated this morning from a print works factory in Saffron Walden.

A printing machine caught fire at Printpack Europe on Radwinter Road at around 8.50am this morning, triggering automatic sprinklers on the factory floor of the building.

Two fire engines from Saffron Walden attended the fire, which had been extinguished by automatic carbon dioxide, before crews arrived. Firefighters then used one hose to dampen the area down and ensure all was cool at the scene.

The crews were out by 9.25am, and staff were able to return to the building.
