Burglars raided The Temeraire pub in Saffron Walden in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, January 14).
The High Street pub, which is part of the Wetherspoons chain, was broken into at 3.45am and police and forensic officers were at the scene soon after the incident took place.
Thieves smashed open two fruit machines and got away with an amount of cash.
A spokesman for Wetherspoons said: “The pub has handed over CCTV to the police and will help with their investigation in any way possible.”
The pub reopened at around 12.15pm.
