A Saffron Walden pub will be serving 10 beers from the USA during a 16-day festival.

The craft beers on offer at The Temeraire in High Street, have been sourced from brewers from states including California, Georgia, Massachusetts and Oregon.

They will complement the 15 beers from the UK being served in the pub during the festival.

The festival will run from October 16-31 inclusive, with all beers priced at £2.15 a pint.

It will feature new, seasonal and speciality beers, including a pumpkin beer, a peppercorn beer, an organic beer and a coffee stout.

In addition, many of the beers are available in the pub for the first time, having been brewed exclusively for the festival.

The US beers are: Sgt Pepper (Cambridge Brewery); American Bitter Red (21st Amendment Brewery); Even Keel (Ballast Point Brewery); Cream Ale (Ninaski Brewery); Sunshine Daydream (Fat Heads Brewery); Extremely Self-Conscious Ale (Stone Brewing Co); Tree Hugger (Terrapin Brewery); Restoration Pale Ale (Abita Brewery); IPA (Harpoon Brewery) and Avatar Jasmine IPA (Elysian Brewery).

The UK beers include: Pumpkin Ale (Everards); Poltergeist Porter (Caledonian); World’s Biggest Liar (Jennings); Half Nelson (Thwaites); Hazelnut Brownie (Batemans); Wild Cat (Exmoor) and The Abbot’s Confession (Greene King).

Customers will be able to sample any three of the real ales in special third of a pint glasses for the price of a pint.

Pub manager Ryan Moore said: “We are thrilled to be serving such a fantastic selection of beers from the USA and the UK.

“The craft beers from the USA have never before been available in cask form in the UK, which makes them even more special.

“The festival will be the perfect way for real ale enthusiasts to enjoy a range of excellent beers.

“It will also give them an opportunity to support microbrewers throughout the UK, as the pub is featuring many of their beers.”

Tasting notes on all the beers will be available in the pub.
