The Saffron Walden Rotary Club have distributed donations from their Christmas street collection to 13 charities, including Uttlesford Home-Start.

The charity provides support to families with children aged under five and who are experiencing difficulties.

A total of £2,750 was collected, with Home-Start was the principle charity supported – it received £1,000.

Home-Start would welcome more volunteers and anyone interested should contact them on 01799 520728.

Tony Chapman, president of the Rotary Club, said: “I would like to thank everyone for their generous donations particularly in these difficult times, together with management and staff of Waitrose, Tesco and Barclays Bank for their support.”
