SAFFRON Walden Royal British Legion have been given a cash boost for its Poppy Appeal.

The branch was presented with a cheque for £486 by Waitrose. The money was raised by customers in the supermarket’s Community Matters Scheme in June.

In addition to the donation, Waitrose will be supporting the appeal in November through its John Lewis volunteer scheme, which will allow partners from the branch to be released from their usual duties to sell poppies outside the branch.
