A SAFFRON Walden school has been celebrating ethnic and cultural diversity through an International Week.
The events at St Mary's included an African drumming workshop, visiting artists who worked over two days with the children to produce 3D displays representing five different continents, and a day of international cuisine. The children also learned about the different countries around the world.
The whole event culminated in an open evening for parents to celebrate their children's achievements.
Head at St Mary's Surge Dhanda said: "With an increasingly diverse school roll with pupils from all over the world it was felt that this should be celebrated to enhance our community cohesion and sense of belonging.
"Events have been arranged for the whole school to participate in joined by parents.
"The children enjoyed the week of activities and as a result have learnt more about other cultures and the wider community.
