A SIXTH form student at Saffron Walden County High School was one of a number selected from across the region to work on a scientific project funded by the Nuffied Foundation.

Jonathan Smith spent five weeks at the Department of Earth Science, University of Cambridge. investigating and producing an undergraduate web resource on Magnetic Bacteria that had been collected from the River Cam.

He presented his results as a poster presentation at the recent regional Nuffield Bursary Celebration evening at Napp Pharmaceuticals.
