A children’s nursery on Carver Barracks has been given a cash boost thanks to shoppers.

Busy Bees, which is based within the Army family estate in Wimbish, received a cheque for £528 from Waitrose as part of the supermarket’s Community Matters green token initiative.

Busy Bees mainly cares for children’s whose parents live and work on the barracks, although youngsters from nearby villages are also welcome to attend. It also supports the families of service personnel who are on tour in Afghanistan and serving abroad in other countries.

Busy Bees also works with the soldiers and have helped to create a place for the children to learn before they go to school by providing help, such as preparing an allotment for the children to explore.
