A 65-year-old woman from Saffron Walden is feared missing after an earthquake hit Nepal.

Marilyn Harnett, who is registered as born in the town, is listed as missing on the International Committee of the Red Cross’s website for linking family members after the disaster.

Ms Harnett, who was in Delhi in March, is being sought by Brian Harnett, who is in Merrimac, Australia.

Nepal was hit by the earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, on Saturday morning and has killed more than 3,400 people.

The country, between India and China, was also hit with a 6.7 magnitude aftershock on Sunday morning.
