A live tweeting event, aimed at bringing local businesses together, took place at the Railway pub in Saffron Walden on Tuesday (September 29).
A number of business owners gathered to “meet and tweet” for #SaffronHour, which is a new online campaign to get people talking about the town through Twitter every Tuesday from 4pm-5pm.
The event saw people live tweeting throughout “Saffron Hour” while also enjoying the more conventional art of conversation between 4pm-6pm.
Leonardo Wood, of LGX Marketing, who organised the event, said: “I think it has been an excellent turn out. Some people were unsure about what it was all about and perhaps afraid to ask questions online, so it was great to be able to meet in person and discuss what we’re trying to do.
“Social media is fantastic, but there’s nothing like shaking hands with people and knowing who you’re talking to. This event was about putting faces to Twitter profiles and hopefully we can build on what we’ve done so far.”
