Save the date for a golden weekend ... Hatfield Broad Oak Flower Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Held over the spring bank holiday weekend of May 24-26, there will be floral displays inside the historic 12th century St Mary the Virgin Church, and numerous stalls and activities in the churchyard to entertain all the family.
On the Saturday, after the event is open by a surprise celebrity, visitors can browse the stalls, watch their teddy bear parachute from the church tower, and enjoy refreshments, including a barbecue, and various displays.
On the Sunday, visitors can enjoy lunch in the marquee and organ music in the church.
On the Monday, support the 10km runners as they race through the village, enjoy meeting the birds of Harlow falconry – and listen to the rock choir. Free entry, free parking. For details, visit hatfield-broad-oak.net/festival.htm
