STUDENTS from the Friends Junior School enjoyed a fun sleepover at the Science Museum in London.
The Year 4 pupils braved the weather to experience an exciting evening of fun experiments and hands on activities.
They saw jelly freeze rock solid after being plunged into nitro glycerine and then watched it shatter into small pieces by a hammer, and balloons full of hydrogen that made an enormous bang when lit by a flame.
The children then slept among the museum's exhibits, one of which was a replica of Beagle2, the probe sent to Mars.
The adventure continued the following morning with the IMAX film, Fly me to the Moon, and they ere given the opportunity to explore the Interactive Room, 'The Launch Pad'.
A school spokesman said: "The trip provided such a valuable experience for the pupils. It brought science to life and gave them an insight into how much it impacts on our everyday lives.
