SCIENCE week will be celebrated at Saffron Walden Museum with a family activity day on Saturday (March 20).
Find out how the Earth is made at a drop-in session between 11am and 1pm or 2pm to 4pm. Take part in gold panning and fossil rubbing, see impressive rock specimens and a model volcano, and talk with Essex geologist and author Gerald Lucy.
You can also become a rock hunter and discover rocks and fossils around the museum and its grounds. Suitable for all ages but children must bring an adult.
Entrance is �1.50 for adults, 75p for discounts and children are free.
