TWO London artists are exhibiting their work at the Friends' School's Octopus Gallery from tomorrow (Friday).

Alexandra Carpenter and Simon Foxall are figurative painters who cast a cynical eye on contemporary society.

Gallery curator Emma Wilson said: "Foxall's dynamic and theatrical paintings refer to portraiture's rich history whilst appearing both alluring and repulsive.

"Carpenter, on the other hand, offers a seductive look on her world through rose tinted glasses, though on closer reflection all is not as it seems."

The gallery is open on weekdays from 11am until 4.30pm and entry is free.
