ACTOR and singer Ian 'H' Watkins launched a new performing arts school in Newport on Saturday.

The former Steps star took part in a question and answer session as Bedazzle opened its doors at Newport Free Grammar School.

Founder and principal Diane Janssen said: "It was a fabulous day and a tremendous success.

"Ian took part in a dance workshop and then watched the students perform their own routines in front of family and friends who attended the launch party."

Pop group Holah, who performed in Saffron Walden Market Square back in July, also sang at the event.

"It was great that Ian could take time out from his busy schedule and he will be coming back early next year to see how we are getting on."

Bedazzle teaches performing arts. For more details call Mrs Janssen on 01799 542614.
