SKELETONS, witches, pumpkins and spiders arrived for a special Halloween screening on Friday.

Nearly 100 people of all ages dressed up to watch Tim Burton's animated film Corpse Bride at Saffron Screen in the Saffron Walden County High School.

Cinema manager Ulrike Balser said: "There was a fantastic range of costumes and a lot of imagination went into creating them. It was a very enjoyable evening with everyone, from three-years-old to much older, getting into the spirit of Halloween.

"The cinema had been decorated with spiders and pumpkins and everyone liked the film. Although it was a children's film, I think all the adults were entertained as well!"

The winner of the best-costume prize was Tim Frostick from Saffron Walden.
