The original painting of St Mary’s Church, Saffron Walden in the snow that is this year’s Christmas card St Clare Hospice is up for sale.

The painting will be auctioned and it’s currently on show in the Saffron Walden shop and bidding will start at £25.

People can place a bid on the painting by going in to the shop at 1 Mercers Row, CB10 1HD or calling 01799 523573. Bidding closes on Saturday, December 16.

Shop manager Janice Fox, said: “Every year we have a winter-themed painting of a Saffron Walden landmark which is turned into a charity Christmas card. This year, we sold out of the cards in one day. I have got four more boxes in stock now, so there are plenty of Saffron Walden cards to sell.

A pack of 10 Saffron Walden Christmas cards costs £3.95, enough to pay for one hour of the charity’s 24 hour advice line, which provides critical support and assistance to people in need of immediate advice.
