ST Mary’s Church in Saffron Walden is hosting a service on Sunday at 4pm for the town’s division of St John Ambulance.
The work of St John Ambulance in the area and elsewhere in the country will be celebrated. An ambulance which has been refurbished for the use of St John, will be blessed.
The Revd David Tomlinson, Rector of St Mary’s, said: “It will be a great joy to welcome members of St John Ambulance to the church and to give thanks for the wonderful voluntary work they do in our community.”
A spokesman for St John’s said: “We are hugely grateful for the generosity of our donors, who have helped provide us with this superb equipment. We know that it will really help us respond to the needs of the people we care for.”
All are welcome at the service, which will be followed by refreshments afterwards in the parish rooms next to the church.
