A CARBON Footprint Show being held at Saffron Walden Town Hall on Saturday is the last in the series of Town Mayor Hilary Shibata's sustainability events.

Mayor Shibata wants as many people as possible to go along between 10am and 3pm to learn how to stamp out global warming.

"We need to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide we're pumping into the atmosphere," she said.

"It is the main greenhouse gas that's involved in global warming - but most of us don't know where to start.

"On Saturday we'll be giving people the opportunity to calculate their own carbon emissions, and see what a big effect some small changes could make."

The free event will give advice on saving water in your home and garden, simple energy and money saving tips and a Toyota Prius hybrid car will be on display.

Free energy efficient light bulbs will be handed out and there will be children's activities and refreshments.

"This is the last in the series of Sustainability Saturdays that have been running since I became mayor in May last year," added Mayor Shibata.

"It will bring together all of the different ways that we can help to save the planet.
