POLICE at Stansted Airport have helped to raise nearly 400 for Children in Need with home-made treats that sold like hot cakes.
Cakes baked by officers and staff at the airport police station went on sale on Friday at a stall set up in the atrium in Enterprise House.
Airport and airline staff based at the office block lapped up the cakes and also bought tickets for a range of tombola prizes donated by police staff and businesses at Stansted.
Det Con Jean Seager, one of the organisers, said: “We are very grateful to everyone who made cakes and to all the business which donated prizes.
“We still have a few prizes left and we hope the final total will be around 450.”
