TWENTY-FIVE students and three members of staff from Newport Free Grammar School went on the 17th Italian exchange to the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
In beautiful weather conditions a varied itinerary included days in Maniago, Lake Barcis and Venice and a visit to the only mosaic school in northern Europe.
Sixth form students did work experience in a local primary school where they learnt about the education system and the integration of immigrant children.
Lucy Burnell in year 12, on her fourth exchange, said: “I have learnt a lot and my confidence in speaking had greatly improved.”
