MARCH 1 heralded an important meeting which took place in Brussels. Not only was PM David Cameron in town for a summit meeting with other EU leaders, but a group of 29 Sixth Form students from Saffron Walden County High School met with MEP Geoffrey Van Orden.
The students were welcomed to the European Parliament and had a guided tour led by Mr Van Orden and, in true fashion, it finished off with a photocall.
They also had a lively question-and-answer session about the workings of EU and life in Brussels.
The economics, business and politics students also found out about the economics of running Brussels Airport with a behind-the-scenes tour, and paid a visit to the state-of-the-art production line at Audi.
The trip was rounded off by a discussion about the euro and inflation at the Bank of Belgium and a visit to the innovative Technopolis museum.
