WANNABE magicians, dancers, singers and musicians will all be taking part in a festive variety show to kick off charities week at the County High School.

A group of A-level Leisure Studies students have organised the event and money raised will be donated to the League of Friends of Saffron Walden Community Hospital – which helps enhance the stay of patients by raising money for new equipment, facilities and services.

Organisers say the spectacle, taking place from 7.30pm next Tuesday (December 18), will boast “the finest talent the school has to offer”.

Julia Studholme has been at the heart of putting the event together. She said: “The Christmas Variety Show will help showcase the many talents of students at the County High School, while also raising money for a great cause.

“We have worked really hard to organise the show as part of our course and would be delighted to see as many people as possible turn out to see some potential stars of the future before they become famous!”

The town’s independent cinema, Saffron Screen, will host the event at the County High and everybody in the community is welcome.

Tickets, 3, can be bought by emailing Emma Cory at 06cory_em@swchs.net

The school’s charities week begins next week and will include spoof re-creations of game shows such as Take Me Out, QI and A League of Their Own.
