Summer swimming at Saffron Walden outdoor pool

PUBLISHED: 09:29 11 May 2011

SUMMER swimming at Saffron Walden County High School (SWHCS) will be available from June 18 until September 4.

The full-sized pool – heated to 80 degrees - and neighbouring tennis courts are run as a club open to all families with a child at SWCHS or any of its feeder schools.

It is maintained daily by school staff and attended at all times by qualified life-guards. The only thing expected of members is that they attend a couple of sessions by the pool to sign in members and their guests.

To secure your place you will need to sign up on the enrolment night, Tuesday May 17, 8pm at SWCHS Sports Centre. For the best chance of securing a place, application forms may also be submitted in advance. These are available from the Tourist Information Centre, the library, from outside 45 West Road or from the website.

Also attend the signing up evening bringing your completed form, cheque and diary to choose your place on the rota. Those who have submitted their forms in advance and arrive early have first access to the rota.

The pool is a sell-out every year and places are always allocated on a first come first served basis.
