MEMBERS of a UK-wide charity music event were out in force in Saffron Walden to drum up support.

Oxjam was set up in 2006 to raise money for Oxfam through music events. And the regional Oxjam team set up a stall outside the local Oxfam shop on King Street in the hope of finding people who are interested in organising fundraising music events, which will run throughout March.

Regional manager for Essex and Herts, Jessica Mawby, said: "It went really well and there were quite a few people interested in getting involved, although we are still eager for more people to help out.

"We are looking for lively, keen spirited people, who want to contribute something to their local music scene whilst raising money for charity at the same time."

If you are interested in lending a hand, or want more information, email Jessica Mawby at hertsessex@oxjam.org or visit the website at www.oxfam.org.uk/oxjam
