A-level students at Saffron Walden County High presented a cheque to Teenage Cancer Trust from money raised at the school’s Christmas Variety Show.
As part of their Leisure Studies course, the sixth formers organised the annual Christmas Variety Show, which raised £1,800 for three local charities. The event was seen as an opportunity to showcase the school’s talent.
Students chose to make a donation of £600 to the Teenage Cancer Trust because it was a charity close to a couple of them, having had first-hand experience of family members suffering from cancer.
The money raised will help to support families of young people with cancer. It will also help to support the running of the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Judith Anderson from Teenage Cancer Trust came along to accept the cheque.
