A TEENAGER is in a serious condition in hospital following an incident in Stansted at the weekend.

Police investigating the incident, which happened in Pines Hill at 3.30am on Sunday, have arrested a 36-year-old Stansted man on suspicion of careless and dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road accident. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries until December 1.

The 17-year-old from Harlow remains in a serious condition at Queens Hospital in Romford.

Road policing officers from Dunmow are investigating and it is believed the boy had a dispute with the driver of a vehicle which had stopped in Pines Hill.
