Teenager mugged in Great Shelford

PUBLISHED: 18:50 21 March 2012

A TEENAGE boy was mugged by a group of men as he walked along a road in Great Shelford.

The 14-year-old was in Woollards Lane at about 9pm on Friday (March 16) when he was approached by three to four men.

One pushed him from behind and grabbed him by the neck before taking a £10 note from his jeans.

They then knocked him to the ground and kicked him several times.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was left very shaken.

The men walked off in the direction of the railway station. One of the men was wearing blue jeans and white Nike trainers but there are no other descriptions.

PC Andy Bates, who is investigating, said: “This was a cowardly attack by these men who decided to pick on a young victim and for only £10.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and remembers seeing a group of men to get in touch. Any information could be very important to this investigation.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Bates on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111
