An open evening in Saffron Walden is being held for teenagers interested in becoming a police cadet.

Essex Police’s volunteer police cadet scheme offers a variety of opportunities for young people from 13-18 years-old.

The open day will be held on February 20 at 7.30pm at the Croft Youth Centre, in Saffron Walden.

The aim of the cadet scheme is to help prepare young people for their futures by providing varied activities, opportunities to develop qualifications, enhance interpersonal skills and confidence. The scheme can also help cadets achieve a sense of pride through supporting their local community while gaining life experience and skills for their future.

Current cadets as well as cadet leaders will be at the open evening and ready to discuss their roles.

The Croft Youth Centre is at Fairycroft Road, in Saffron Walden.
