THAXTED Day Centre is to be officially unveiled today (February 27).
The opening of the day centre brings an end to three years' hard work and provides Thaxted with a fantastic new social facility available to the entire community.
The old centre, which had become run down and in need of replacement, was demolished in May last year.
Construction then began on its �320,000 replacement - funded, designed and built by Uttlesford District Council.
Construction was completed in time for Christmas, but UDC chairman, Cllr Mark Lemon, will conduct the official opening ceremony.
