ABOUT £12,000 worth of cosmetics was stolen from Westgate department store in Saffron Walden on Monday evening.

ABOUT £12,000 worth of cosmetics was stolen from Westgate department store in Saffron Walden on Monday evening.

The thieves gained entry to the department stores by smashing a window, causing an estimated £100 of damage.

The burglary is suspected to have happened between 5.50pm on Monday and 3.30am on Tuesday and is currently being investigated by Pc Robert Townsend.

The police are appealing for witnesses or for anyone with information about this crime to contact officers at Saffron Walden on 0300 3334444, or call crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
