TO recognise the importance of Neighbourhood Watch, Essex Police and the police authority are inviting applications for the Co-ordinator of the Year Award 2012.

With over 8,000 volunteer co-ordinators, NHW schemes provide support and reassurance to over a third of households across Essex. Each policing district is inviting the public and others involved in community safety to nominate NHW co-ordinators who have demonstrated excellent service in their community.

Each district will judge the nominations and submit one as their candidate for the prestigious Essex Co-ordinator of the Year Award. The winner will be selected by a judging panel and all other candidates will receive a certificate of appreciation.

To make a nomination, visit essex.police.uk/my_neighbourhood, fill in the form and e-mail it to Uttlesford co-ordinator Alan Johnson: nhw@acjohnson4.plus.com or hand it in to your local police station before 5pm on December 7. Nominations will only be considered if you give your name and contact details. The results will be announced in December.
