A TOP Government minister is taking time out of his busy schedule to visit Uttlesford District Council chiefs next week.
Brandon Lewis MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for London, Local Government and Planning, is calling in at the council offices in London Road, Saffron Walden, on Monday (March 4).
Mr Lewis, who is also the MP for Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, will be given a presentation detailing how the Ccouncil has turned its financial fortunes around dramatically in the past six years - from near bankruptcy in 2007 to receiving the highest percentage increase Government financial settlement of any local authority in the country for 2013/14.
He will also meet council leader Jim Ketteridge and his cabinet, the council’s chief executive John Mitchell and Saffron Walden MP Sir Alan Haselhurst.
