ROAD users should expect delays as thousands travel to the V Festival, near Chelmsford, Essex over the weekend.

Organisers of the festival are expecting over 100,000 people to attend the event in Hylands Park on the A414.

The Highways Agency is advising drivers that campers are likely to travel during the day on Friday August 21 using the A12, M25 and the M11.

Ticket holders will come and go during the festival on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August and delays could be encountered on Monday August 24 as people leave the site.

The A12 from the M25 at junction 28 to Chelmsford is likely to be particularly busy.

Especially for this event, the Highways Agency is allocating two traffic officer patrol vehicles to the A12 in order to support Essex Police.
